Disclaimer: Everything in this post is alleged and reflects the explicit opinion of the author—though, honestly, common sense does a lot of the heavy lifting here. John-Paul is currently facing federal charges for his actions leading up to Mica's suicide.

The absolute hardest part of watching Netflix's new true-crime, Death of the Pastor’s Wife, is bearing witness to Mica—a soul so undeniably full of light, love, and genuine grace—have her life completely snuffed out.

The second hardest part? Watching "Pastor" John-Paul whine, sniffle, and fake-cry in the most insultingly obvious, guilty manner known to modern television. I have seen community theater fifth-graders deliver more nuanced emotional depth in a mid-December production of The Nutcracker.

If you haven't already, drag your ass to a couch and try to get through this thing without ripping your flat-screen off the wall in an absolute fit of rage.

Mica Miller was a vibrant, deeply compassionate woman whose spirit radiated through every room she entered, dedicated to her faith, her community, and lifting up everyone around her. Tragically, behind closed doors, she was trapped in an escalating nightmare of psychological torment, coercive control, and relentless harassment. Her sudden death in a remote state park shocked all who loved her, leaving a devastating void that no community closure could ever fix. The sheer brightness of her life stands in stark, painful contrast to the horrifying circumstances surrounding her final days. Her story isn't just a tragic stat, it’s a heartbreaking testament to how dangerous covert abuse truly is.

Netflix's docuseries Death of the Pastor's Wife dives headfirst into the horrifying fallout of Mica’s death and the toxic dynamic of the church hierarchy that enabled it. Through chilling interviews, leaked audio, and local reporting, the series painstakingly maps out the harrowing timeline of abuse leading up to the tragedy. It exposes the gaping holes in the initial investigation while turning a harsh spotlight directly onto the bizarre, self-serving actions of her estranged husband. Equal parts true-crime autopsy and systemic takedown, the show forces viewers to confront how easily abusers can hide behind a pulpit. It’s essential, deeply infuriating viewing that will leave your blood boiling.

Throughout the entire series, the man’s behavior is pure psychopathy. He had her funeral and body arrangements fully mapped out within three days. He literally built a color-coded binder packed with his personal "evidence" and hand-picked documentation to bulletproof his own narrative. Every time he confronts another human being, he unleashes a cascade of crocodile tears, deploying the absolute maximum amount of slimy, privileged white-man weaseling to slip off the hook. And his signature move? Aggressively grinding his knuckles into his eyeballs until they’re red and watery to simulate human grief. It’s a staged, fraudulent, total performance.

Let's discuss the physics, shall we? The gun and ammo were found roughly 100 feet away from the body, in a body of water with zero current. How does that happen under any law of nature without third-party intervention? Were there prints on the weapon? He smugly claims he was surrounded by 100 people on that Sunday, but have we actually heard a single verifiable word from this alleged crowd? Why am I finishing this series feeling like the local police did absolute jack, the court system is asleep at the wheel, and it literally took a massive Netflix production budget to drag these details into the light of day?

Yes, he is finally facing federal cyber-stalking charges for terrorizing her prior to her death, but his court dates keep getting kicked down the road while he walks around completely free.

Want your stomach to churn? He remarried. A woman from the exact same church—who knows every single detail of this case—is up there leading worship, playing happy stepmom, and letting that repulsive man touch her four times a day. God help her, because at this rate, she's standing on a very dangerous line.

My only remaining hope is that this new FBI investigation is playing the long game. Maybe the delays just mean they're stacking an ironclad, airtight federal case until they can book him for life without the possibility of parole.

We can only pray that justice finally catches up.
