I’ve been fortunate enough to build a life filled with world travel. My job takes me everywhere, from coast to coast in the US to far-flung destinations like Bengaluru and Paris. But despite what my passport implies, I am, at my core, an absolute homebody. Left to my own devices, nothing beats a dedicated "rot day" spent curled up on the couch with a mountain of snacks and a marathon of my favorite shows.

Choosing a career that flings me across the globe regularly pushes me out of my comfort zone, forcing me to experience places I never imagined I'd visit. The toughest part of living out of a suitcase? Getting decent sleep.    This historic estate is an absolute sanctuary whenever I need to escape the chaotic energy of the city without actually leaving town. Nestled in twenty acres of lush, ancient flora and towering rain trees, it feels less like a hotel and more like a private colonial retreat. I love starting my mornings on the private verandahs listening to the birds before heading down for an incredible alfresco meal. It has a timeless, old-world charm that makes every single stay feel deeply relaxing and restorative.

The floor-to-ceiling windows flood the spacious rooms with natural light, making it one of my favorite urban perches in Asia. I always end my nights at their rooftop bar, sipping a crafted cocktail while taking in the dazzling city lights below. It’s polished, effortlessly efficient, and perfectly located for exploring the local food scene.

   This legendary hotel is the absolute peak of traditional European luxury, and stepping through its doors feels like stepping back into a grander era. The stunning Louis XVI décor, towering gilded mirrors, and extravagant floral arrangements make every inch of the property feel endlessly photo-worthy. I insist on booking their formal afternoon tea in the Palm Court every time I’m in the city, it is a delightfully decadent ritual that never gets old. It’s pure, unfiltered glamour executed to absolute perfection.

   Sofitel Seoul

   This property effortlessly bridges French art de vivre with sleek Korean modernism, making it easily one of the most chic stays in the city. Located right next to Seokchon Lake, the views during cherry blossom season or crisp autumn mornings are nothing short of breathtaking. I am totally obsessed with their stunning indoor pool and the sky lounge, which serves some of the best French-inspired pastries and cocktails in town. It feels youthful, incredibly stylish, and endlessly inviting.

   Mandarin Oriental, Munich

   Tucked away on a quiet street near the high-end boutiques of Maximilianstraße, this boutique property is my go-to European hideaway. The highlight for me is always their breathtaking rooftop terrace, which serves up 360-degree views stretching all the way to the Alps. The rooms feel intimate yet incredibly luxurious, and having world-class dining like Matsuhisa right downstairs makes it almost impossible to leave. It is top-tier Bavarian hospitality wrapped up in a sleek, ultra-private package.
